Beginning in Amsterdam, your luxury Scenic cruise will take you on a journey of discovery through some of Europe’s most notable towns and villages. From the diamond capital, Antwerp, and the World-Heritage listed Bruges, to the historic homes, fields and farms of Arnhem, history comes alive on this exciting tour.

The history of this region intersects at Koblenz, where the Rhine and the Moselle Rivers meet. From there, the journey of discovery continues through the Black Forest region, and on to Switzerland.

Day 1 – Welcome to Amsterdam

Day 2 – Antwerp

Excursion to Bruges

Day 3 – Veere

Delta Works

Marvel at the modern wonder that is Holland’s Delta Works, and then visit the historic Storm Surge Barrier. Alternatively, discover charming Veere, either through a walking tour or a guided bike ride that will also take in the surrounding dykes.

Day 4 – Arnhem

The Netherlands open air museum

Explore the Arnhem Airborne museum and learn about the Battle of Arnhem. The Airborne Experience allows you to follow in the footsteps of the British parachutists who made their way across dangerous terrain to Arnhem in September 1944. Alternatively, visit the Netherlands Open Air Museum and discover historic houses, farms and windmills. The museum portrays the impression of daily life for the average Dutchman over the past few centuries.

Day 8 – Cochem

A medieval gem resting on the banks of the Moselle River, Cochem will make you feel as if you’re stepping into a fairytale. Explore this charming city on a tour that culminates in a visit to the iconic Reichsburg Castle.

Day 9 – Moselle Valley Cruising

Admire the beautiful Moselle Valley from the comfort of your Scenic Space-Ship as you relax on board during a full day of cruising. If you’re feeling energetic, take a guided bike ride to the pretty village of Bernkastel, where you can rejoin the cruise.

Day 10 – Bernkastel

Day 11 – Rhine Gorge > Rudesheim

Succumb to charming Rüdesheim, where you’ll board the Winzerexpress mini-train for a guided visit of Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. Afterwards, enjoy a cable car ride to the Niederwald Monument.

Day 12 – Mannheim

Concert at Rastatt Palace

Explore the historic university town of Heidelberg, with its fine Renaissance castle, or enjoy the Sweet Tastes of Heidelberg tour, where you’ll have an opportunity to sample some of the local chocolates, bon bons and gummy bears. Alternatively, experience the thrill of the Hockenheim Formula 1 race track (available on selected dates, enquire for details), with a museum visit and an insider tour of the circuit.

Enrich
Enjoy a private tour of the Palace of Rastatt, a Baroque masterpiece and one of the most magnificent historic venues in the region, before enjoying an exclusive classical concert in its resplendent hall. It’ll be an enormously enriching evening of pomp and grandeur.

Day 15 – Basel > Zurich

Farewell

After a delicious breakfast, prepare to head home. Your Scenic Representative will transfer you to the airport for your onward flight. It may be the end of your cruise, but it’s the beginning of a lifetime of fond memories. (Please schedule flights to depart after midday).
