The one thing not to be missed is?
Central Park. It is stunning in every season; in spring with the blossom trees, the fireflies on warm summer evenings, the changing colours of the leaves in fall and the lakes icing over in winter. Other than exploring its beauty on foot, it can be viewed from Top of the Rock during the day or at sunset.
If I had more time, I would have …
I would have gone to a Yankees game. Baseball is such a large part of their culture, I regret not allocating time for it.
My hot travel tip is …
A spot not to be missed is definitely the Highline. It was originally a railway line that has been repurposed into a walkway lined with flowers, greenery and places to sit.
My tip is to start at the 34th street end and walk down to the Meatpacking District in the afternoon. The walkway ends near the Standard Hotel where you can enjoy a refreshing cocktail at their rooftop bar with one of the best views of lower Manhattan from 4pm onwards.

How do you rank this trip?
New York does not compare to any other city and should be on everyone’s bucket list!
My favourite meal was …
My favourite restaurant was Beauty & Essex on the Lower East Side. The entrance looks like a pawn shop but the back wall opens and leads you into an opulently decorated hidden restaurant. The food was exquisite and the wine and cocktail menu has something for everyone.
I never travel without …
A camera or smart phone to take pictures and capture memories.
Some final thoughts:
The best bagel I ever had was from Tompkins Square Bagels across from Tompkins Square Park. They are massive, made fresh everyday and the best place to sit and eat is on one of the benches in the park.
