New Zealand Self-Drive Itinerary

Christchurch – Franz Josef – Queenstown – Dunedin – Christchurch

Day 1: Christchurch

Transfer from the airport to your hotel for your stay in Christchurch, the centre of the Canterbury Region. The bustling vibe of the city takes hold at Cathedral Square, where you’ll find several heritage listed landmarks to admire and explore. Visit New Regent Street for some shopping and go punting down the Avon River for some stunning Botanic Garden views.

Overnight: 1-night at Ibis Hotel Christchurch

Day 2-3: Franz Josef

Welcome to the glacier, waterfall, lakes and rainforests region. Named after an Austrian emperor, the glacier was first explored in 1865 by geologist Julius von Haast. Today you will join your included Glacier Valley Walking tour to understand this moving natural wonder and finish the day with a soak in one of local hot pools (walk and hot pools included with this package). For a real adventure, take a helicopter to one of the summits.

Day 4-6: Queenstown
