How would you rate your experience?
4-stars for the Windy City.
The one thing not to be missed is?
Avec Restaurant was a great experience, serving inventive small and large plates served in a cozy, minimalist space with communal seating. Excellent food, service and wine, one of my most enjoyable meals out.

If I had more time, I would have …
Explored further north of the city around the Lincoln Park area and the famous zoo, plus Belmont Boat Harbor and over to Wrigley Field for its quaint neighbourhood streets and of course the famous baseball stadium. I would have liked to stopped by the Art Institute near Grant Park also.

How do you rank this trip?
Great city to visit, but avoid the colder months of January and February if possible. During spring and summer, the city comes alive with festivals and a great outdoors culture.

My favourite meal was …
We really enjoyed the meal at Avec. Cindy’s Rooftop Bar on Michigan Avenue was also a great spot for a bite to eat or drink!

I never travel without …
My portable phone battery charger. With so many photo opportunities, you never want your smart phone to go flat!
Some final thoughts:
Make sure you check out some of the markets and vintage shops. Intelligentsia live here too, so stop in there for very good quality coffee like you would find back home.
