With its luxury, all-inclusive approach and its commitment to immersive tours and cultural experiences, Viking has quickly gained a reputation for service and quality.
It’s this reputation that has earned the relatively young cruise company a loyal following and several awards including being named the #1 Ocean Cruise Line by Travel + Leisure readers and Readers’ Choice Award 11-years running from Conde Nasté Traveller.
Save the credit card for shopping, as your Viking Ocean cruise fare/price is a truly all-inclusive one. Here is what to expect, included as part of your Viking fare.
All-Verandah cabins

Staterooms and suites offer spacious, elegant surroundings with a king-size bed and private verandah adding that extra special touch of enjoyment.
You will also find heated bathroom floors, powerful showers (not common on many cruises), 24-hour room service, free Wi-Fi and movies on-demand. And with all cabins surrounded by the latest sound-proofing technology, a peaceful slumber is assured.
10 dining venues

With a choice of ten different dining venues, the toughest decision you’ll have to make is where to eat. On Viking, there are no pay-to-dine options. All meals, regardless of the dining venue, are included in your fare. Again, this is unique amongst most cruise lines.
Dinner attire is smart casual too, so a dinner jacket is never required. Simply relax and enjoy the five-star service, quality cuisine and wine – which is also included!
Viking’s ocean ships offer multiple restaurant locations and food choices—from fine dining in The Restaurant, which serves three full meals and the widest choice of culinary options, and the World Café, which serves international fare and regional specialties – to intimate dining experiences at The Chef’s Table, offering a multi-course tasting menu complete with wine pairings and Manfredi’s, which features freshly prepared pastas and Italian favourites.
The Kitchen Table focuses on regional dishes from market to table; the Pool Grill specialises in gourmet burgers; afternoon tea and scones are available in the Wintergarden while Mamsen’s serves Norwegian deli-style fare.
There’s also multiple choices for outdoor seating during meals and in fact, Viking’s ships offer the most al fresco dining options at sea.
Drinks with all meals

For lunch and dinner, guests enjoy complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks in any of the ten onboard dining venues. Specialty teas, coffee drinks and bottled water are available anytime throughout your journey.
24-hour room service

Do you fancy a breakfast served in bed? How about dinner under the stars on your private verandah? It’s all possible, thanks to 24-hour room service – complimentary of course.
Spa Facilities

Another inclusion rarely found on other ships is access to the spa facilities. Cool down in the snow grotto, heat up in the steam room, enjoy the hydrotherapy pool or simply relax on a heated tile bed.
Evening entertainment

The evening entertainment options are plentiful. Enjoy a Martini in the Viking Living Room with live classical music.
Head to Torshavn for all-night dancing, enjoy a movie in one of the two theatres onboard or your private stateroom, or enjoy a live show among the many other options available daily.
Shore excursions

Not found on your normal ocean cruise, Viking offers free shore excursion options in every port. Discover your destination with a local guide who will bring the destination to life with expert commentary on its people, culture and food.
Wi-Fi

Keep in touch with family and friends back home with free Wi-Fi throughout your journey. Available ship-wide in all public spaces and your stateroom.
Self-service laundry
Featuring top-quality washers, dryers and ironing facilities, laundries can be found across multiple decks at no charge to use.

Service Guarantee
Viking is so confident that you’ll love the service and products onboard, that if you are dissatisfied with the service upon first check-in including food, personnel or shore excursions — just notify the front desk within 24 hours of the start of your cruise.
Viking then has 24 hours to correct the situation and in the unlikely event a solution isn’t possible, you can depart the ship with a 100% refund of your cruise price. Now that’s a guarantee!
Small-Ship Cruising

When Viking set out to re-invent the ocean cruise experience, its focus was on guest experience and immersive destination highlights.
Ships carry a maximum of 930 guests and like the company’s river cruise journeys, everything is included with no credit card required on board.
And because of their small-ship size, Viking vessels are able to dock in central locations at each port. Viking’s oceangoing ships are the only ones able to sail up the Thames in London for example.
What Viking is not…
Forget Vegas style shows and umbrella drinks, Viking’s approach is one of sophistication and luxury. Its approach to river and ocean cruising has always been to “re-invent” the experience.
So, on these vessels, it’s only adults, no casinos, no ship photographers or waterslides … just thoughtful and well-designed river and ocean cruise vessels.
